Inflatable Slide at Mission Day
Holy Angels grade school in Dayton Ohio always hosts a mission day on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. The school is located in the center of Dayton, bordering the University of Dayton college campus. As a way to celebrate Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras the kids are given the opportunity to participate in a number activities, that in the end benefit a charity of the school's choosing. In the cafeteria, sweets and pizza are provided, along with numerous other treats and drinks. In the gymnasium, there are many carnival style games, face painting, and in the middle of this all, was an inflatable slide. They brought in A&S Play Zone's 18 foot inflatable slide, which is one of our festival favorites, with churches, schools, and plenty of other summer events. Kid's spent all day enjoying the items, especially the slide. A great plus about our 18 foot inflatable slide is that it fits inside most gymnasiums, big and small. Warm Weather is Getting Closer!
The frigid temperatures of Ohio's winter are slowly beginning to subside As this happens, kids and adults, young and old are all scrambling for the chance to be outside in the sun again. In just a few short weeks, the heat will be substantial enough to start thinking about hosting your Dayton and Cincinnati parties! A&S Play Zone has already stocked up our inventory with plenty of options to help you and your friends have exciting fun parties! As much fun as our inflatable water slides are, the weather won't yet be quite warm enough for those, but there are many other great options. For home use, our bounce house selection has expanded to include more great moonwalks. With water slides out, we still have standard inflatable slides in many different sizes that could fit your event. As we head into the season of prom and especially school field days, our larger items, such as the inflatable obstacle courses, are being sought after even more, so consider calling now! If the heat gets to be too much too soon, A&S also has a variety of misting fans and dunk tanks that can help bring any picnic or outing to a suitable temperature.

New Giant Inflatable Slide! 24 Feet Tall! Fun and Fast!
Today was the debut of A&S Play Zone's new blowup slide. Towering at 24 feet tall and looming across our company's parking lot, I knew I was in the presence of something fun, something awesome. The new vinyl glistened in the sunlight, and everyone stared up in awe. Following its inspection by the state, the staff of A&S slid down the blowup object, and here come the rave reviews. It was fun! It was fast! It's the best inflatable slide we have! I myself climbed up the the center, sat down at the top, and went racing down. It was a rush! The 24 foot Giant Inflatable Slide is going to be A&S Play Zone's premier new item. To try and describe it would be difficult, so the best thing I can say is to try it for yourself! You can rent it for a personal party, graduation event, or block party celebration. If that is not an option, you can be sure to find this giant blow up at local festivals, such as the GermanFest Picnic.

What Inflatables Do YOU Want Next?
I promised that today I would have a new question to pose for you all, and I wasn’t lying! As the summer rush begins to taper off a little and A & S Play Zone starts to look back at their inventory, we have a few thoughts. As always, after a busy year so far, our busiest year ever as a matter of fact (Thanks to all of you!), a few of our older inflatables that we rent out have become damaged to the point where we will no longer rent them out to parties in the Dayton Cincinnati, and Columbus areas. This is simply from many years of bouncing and jumping, and our bouncers take a beating after a few years! Also, we look towards the Autumn/Winter months. We see events like Halloween and Christmas coming up, and although we supply people with equipment for these events, there is more we could do. Our months outside the Spring and Summer times are not as busy as those, so we always have a bit of a quandary. We always want to expand and add more items to keep our customers happy and interested, but which direction should we go?
AS PlayZone has a large number of bounce houses (bouncers jumpys jumpers moonwalks moonbounces or bounce house, whatever you want to call them!) Combination bounce houses, but could we add more? There always seems to be a demand, so if this is your favorite item and where you want to see us expand inventory, let us know in the comments! Maybe your favorite attractions include the extreme or interactive inflatables, such as the demolition ball, boulder dash, or defender dome. Tell us which item is your favorite, and we’ll look for similar items. This category does include bungee runs, the mechanical bull, and inflatable jousts too! A big section that we expanded in this year was slides and water slides. We have 3 large inflatables slides that we rent out to parties in the Dayton, Columbus, and Cincinnati area, but should there be more? Is three dry slides enough? Maybe, because especially in this heat, the water slides could not stay in the warehouse! Wipeout and the Dolphin water slide both entered our inventory this year, to team up with the Roaring River and Velocity Extreme. Perhaps another mid-range slide or even a kid’s slide? Those are my thoughts, but remember, all these questions I’m asking I want your thoughts on!
For now, these are all the items I’m going to suggest, and we will see what people think. As we move forward in the process of transitioning into the later months of the year, we will get more specific with what items we are looking at, and we want you to help along the way! Beat the Heat!
As the temperatures are setting record highs in Dayton, and the surrounding area, people are desperately looking for ways to cool down. First, drinking lots of water is imperative, so don’t shy away from the H2O! Second, finding ways to have fun outside may be difficult, so let me suggest an idea. WATER SLIDES!! Truly, these are life savers in the summer for parents who are looking for something fun for their kids, but don’t want to be outside. My idea is that a group of parents could chip in to rent a slide (remember, slides cost a bit more than bounce houses because of the height, it requires a more detailed design) and then have a party for the entire day! Utilizing a group rental minimizes the cost for all involved but truly maximizes the fun. Now you may think, “What if the kids get tired of it?”, or, “What if they don’t use it the whole time?” They will. I didn’t believe it myself, but while I was working the 5th of July festival at Hueston Woods, I ran the water slide. A&S had four other premiere rides at that event, and there was never a line less than 15 people for the water slide. Some kids rode it continuously for FIVE hours! One kid even rode it over FIFTY TIMES, until his mom finally pulled him away! This showed me just how popular water attractions are in this big heat, enough that I had to try riding it myself and I agree, it is fun! So if your kids are looking for something fun to do in this blazing heat, why not look through the listings for A&S Play Zone’s slip n slides and water slides! Stay Cool!!

Hueston Woods 5th of July Recap
Another fourth of July has come and gone, and a great time was had by all at the Hueston Woods firework display. The hot weather drove many people to the beach, and the location to watch the fireworks from was idyllic. However, staying cool was a major concern. Even the water in Lake Acton was warm, and didn’t do much to cool the weary patrons. What was cool however, was that A & S Play Zone provided five of their premier inflatables at a discounted price. Voting was held on the A&S Facebook page for the favorite ride of the day. The water slide, of course, took first place, and was by far the most popular attraction. It was the Roaring River 22′ dual lane slide, and the best part about it was that it had cold water running down it’s tracks, making it popular among kids and adults!

Other popular rides included the Adventure Obstacle course, which allowed kids to race down it’s multiple lanes, and the 20 x 20 Extreme Bounce House. Trained attendants were posted around each inflatable to assist kids in enjoying the rides properly.

Overall, the event was a big success for all who showed up and all who took part in the inflatable fun. Thank you for having us Hueston Woods!

What’s Hot Right Now – Velocity Extreme
The weather is hot, the deals are hot, and the Velocity Extreme is hot. What’s the difference between all of these? The Velocity Extreme can cool you off! The Velocity is a mammoth water slide, obstacle course, and water slide, all combined into one cool piece of equipment. Peaking out at 25 feet tall, this item is a hit at company events, block parties, community events, and church festivals. In the summertime, people are always looking for fun ways to cool down, and nothing can beat Velocity. It is the biggest inflatable slide in the Southwest Ohio area! Here’s a little clip of it:

Wipeout! 19' Inflatable Slide
As I told you in the previous post, A&S has seen the need for new water items and responded! We decided to add a water slide that splits the heights of our other slides perfectly. It is a great mid range item for size and prize, but has the highest rating for fun! I personally like this slide because it is fast. The straight design along with the bump in the slope downward creates a lot of speed! Check out this picture of it!

One of the best parts about Wipeout is that it works wet or dry! So in the hot summer months, this inflatable slide is perfect for some fun on a hot summer day. In the winter though, you can blow it up indoors at an event and have just as good a time! Here is a picture of what it looks like to sit in the perch area above the slide.

Do you see the little ridge in the slide? That’s what helps give it such great velocity on the way down. Don’t worry about going to fast though, because the inflatable bumper will shield you from any harm! Doesn’t reading this just wanna make you go outside and slip and slide?
