Nothing hurts an office like a negative aura hanging over the employees. A positive work environment is a great factor in helping an office be productive both now, and in the future. Some of the best companies focus on keeping their employees happy and motivated. Especially in environments where sales drive the companies success, attitude is a major factor. As evidence from the internet's devoted obsession to dogs and cats, an office puppy can play a big role in motivating employees. Obviously there are a number of environments where this would not work, but in a smaller company, it is perfect!
As an example, here at A&S Play Zone, we have one of the most lovable and happy dogs anyone has ever seen. His name is Tobi and he loves everyone in the office, and everyone loves him! If people are ever feeling overwhelmed or stressed about work, they simply spend a minute with Tobi and immediately their day is better. Tobi roams around the office and occasionally will stop by and keep a person company at their desk. He brings a smile to people's faces, and when people are smiling, they are more productive and more successful in solving problems.
Overall, an office dog has been one of employee's favorite experiences at our company. I wouldn't say a company cat wouldn't work, but I'm not sure it would have the same effect. If you stop by A&S Play Zone to look at our party rental items, be sure to say hello to Tobi!
